Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in food and beverage but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Ibrahim Ali, Founder of Boxed Halal, located in Schaumburg, IL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Boxed Halal is a halal meat delivery service that provides customers with high-quality, halal-certified meats. Our customers are primarily Muslim consumers who adhere to Islamic dietary laws and seek to purchase halal meats that are free from antibiotics and hormones. We also serve customers who are health-conscious and prefer to eat organic and grass-fed meats. Our mission is to make halal meat accessible and convenient for everyone while upholding the highest standards of quality and safety.

Tell us about yourself

I decided to create Boxed Halal to give everyone in the country easy access to humane, healthy, and fresh products that are 100% halal certified. Many Muslims live in areas of the U.S. that still don’t have Muslim-owned butcher shops or halal meat options at grocery stores, and there are also people who just struggle to find time to travel to get their meat. What motivates me is being able to provide people with an easier way to get halal meats. wha

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is creating a successful halal meat delivery service that provides customers with easy access to high-quality, halal-certified meats. This includes establishing a reliable supply chain and ensuring that our meats meet the highest standards of quality and safety. I have also made significant contributions to the halal industry by promoting awareness of halal-certified meats and making them more accessible to the wider public.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Some of the hardest things that come with being a business owner is managing the supply chain to ensure a consistent and high-quality product, keeping up with changing regulations and certifications and managing customer expectations and satisfaction.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Create a community and foster your relationship with them.
  2. Transparency and communication with customers is key.
  3. Using social media to see what kind of products your followers are looking for and work towards adding those to your catalog and remediating any issues your customers have faced.
