Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Hannah Gardner, CEO of BossCom, located in Dania, FL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am an Etsy and Shopify E-commerce Entrepreneur, Coach, and Consultant.

Tell us about yourself

When I was 14 years old, I journaled to myself in a classroom setting that:
"I aspire to be an inspiration of success for the lives of others. I aim to achieve a level of success that permits time, location, and monetary freedom. I do not know how, but someday I will build a business that brings this into my life".

Entrepreneurship has been in my blood since I was a kid. I was enamored by the go-getters and the doers of the early 2000s. Not many 14-year-olds sit around and read motivational literature or sit in on motivational speeches… But I did. I wanted to build a life I knew both my parents deeply sought but never really carved the correct path. After graduating college and learning absolutely nothing applicable to real-life business, I knew I was left without the skills necessary to build something great. In order to gain these skills, I would have to attend a very different school. This university is called, The School of Hard Knox. This is the school of real life, and the only way you can make it to graduation is by failing forward.

I dove into the deep end trying to learn anything and everything about how to make money online from the comfort of a home office or a villa in Bali. After two years of failed businesses, trial and error, I finally found success in an E-commerce Etsy Brand. This brand eventually manifested into a Shopify brand as well as a wholesale source for other privately labeled brands. All the while, I was documenting all my wins and my many more losses on my Youtube Channel.

Today with 50k subscribers, I have been able to share my 7-figure E-commerce success story and hopefully help kick-start thousands of other brands. Today I have gained financial, time, and location freedom at 26 years old. I aim to help anyone interested in building the same.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Selling my first e-commerce brand and going full-time consulting helping others, which is something I am truly passionate about.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Learning how to navigate a business hitting the ceiling while leading a team of 6. Acquiring the skills of leadership and learning my own personal weaknesses as a CEO.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. If you are not embarrassed by the first version of your product, you've launched too late. JUST START - Reid Hoffman, the founder of LinkedIn.
  2. You can teach yourself anything if you have access to the internet.
  3. You are the average of your 5 best friends; surround yourself with people who push you up the mountain, not drag you down it.
