Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and fitness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jeanette Hewitt, Owner and Founder of Bootoga Lifestyle, located in Gilbert, AZ, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is Bootoga® Lifestyle, a fitness lifestyle for mind, body, and soul. My customers are people who want to live a healthy lifestyle, invest in their well-being, and work on becoming the best version of themselves.

Tell us about yourself

I always loved fitness and how strong I felt when I would workout. I started health & fitness at a very young age. I couldn’t get enough, and I was fascinated by the mind and body connection, the anatomy, and how powerful and intricate every organism truly is. We are masterpieces, each and every one of us, and I wanted the WORLD to know this and experience the beauty of a natural high through nutrition and exercise.

I expanded my brand to reach as many people as I could by creating workshops, retreats, and writing and became a three-time Best Selling Author, Certified Life Coach, and created online training programs, nutrition programs, and more! I have created and trademarked my own method called “Bootoga®” and continually expanding for Worldwide reach. I am motivated each day to help guide someone to feel their best in mind, body, and soul.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Creating and trademarking my own fitness method, Bootoga. It's a fusion of Bootcamp, Yoga, and Meditation. A close second was getting my PRO card as a WBFF Bikini Pro.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Balancing all the hats that a business owner must wear. There's marketing, finance, sales, customer service, being a creator, and so much more. It took many years to balance it all and create a powerful team that is invested in the goal and big picture of the company.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Find a successful mentor in your niche and ask for coaching for setting up a 3-5 year business plan.
  2. Do your in-depth research on what it will cost to set up, sustain it monthly, how to grow it, and know what legal documentation has to be set up.
  3. Make sure to stick with your own personal development to be the best leader for your team and your customers.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Follow your dream, yet make sure you take the actions necessary. Stay open to other perspectives, keep an open mind, be ready to pivot, learning to be good with change. If Covid taught business owners anything, it's that we need to be able to pivot, change, and maneuver whenever necessary. Lead your team with your heart and stay sharp on your sales! We are always selling.
