What's your business, and who are your customers?
I own Enchanted Boutique, a metaphysical boutique. My customers are ones who are into the holistic, witchy, pagan, metaphysical realm. We also provide various services like reiki, tarot, oracle, psychic readings, aura photos, and other services.
Tell us about yourself
From 2011-2014 and even today, we were doing vendor shows throughout the state of Minnesota, WI, and in the midwest, and we wanted to provide the Twin Cities a place to come shop, learn and heal. I left my job with the state of MN to spend my retirement to do something I love. My customers motivate me on a daily basis. They taught me things I didn't know, and we grew together.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I think my biggest accomplishment is having great support from our community in the twin cities. Without our customers and support, we would not have been able to move into our new location this year.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
I think the hardest part is all the stuff behind the scenes that people don't see. It takes a lot to run a business.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Start small so you can get a great foundation for your business.
- Connections with suppliers are important.
- Have fun and do something you love. If you don't love it or do not have fun, then you wouldn't enjoy it.
