What's your business, and who are your customers?
Bonbell is a full-fledged in-house service platform. We serve our customers through different service modules; as a start, we have full-fledged food ordering services and expanding to other lines of business beyond. We serve customers who are mainly based in clusters and communities like sports clubs, universities, corporates, hotels, residential and resorts, etc. We also support merchants to expand their business and grow, control their costs and optimize their operations.
Tell us about yourself
In the beginning, the passion had driven me, but after going so far with Bonbell, commitment and responsibility pushed me forward to move on. Having two wonderful kids to raise always makes me feel having a purpose in life.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Being able to start Bonbell in a tough market like Egypt and with no commercial side or fundraising background. I had to teach myself and learn a lot about different domains. The thing I am most proud of is raising funds before launching. We were just a prototype back then, yet we managed to prove our concept and convince an investor to join Bonbell.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The responsibility, when people look up to you with their eyes believing in you and that they follow your way. Investors, employees, partners, and others.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Don't follow the norms; think outside the boundaries.
- Spend cautiously and monitor your cash flow.
- Invest in selecting the right people and setting them for success.
