Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Rozalia Kieliszkiewicz, coach and owner of Soul Food Fitness Inc., located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Body, Mind, and spiritual health are important for a whole quality of life. Soul Food Fitness was inspired by my own journey in healing physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Understanding that you cannot have a healthy Mind without a healthy body or spirit, respectively. In order for our mechanisms to function optimally, we need to feel aligned and balanced physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. I have specific services that I utilize in order to help my clients reach their highest potential. Tarot reading to mirror their soul and guide them with any present circumstance they could be battling with within. Helping break boundaries, traumas, and potential behavioral patterns in which hold them back. Astrology; to help understand one's psychology, personality, skills, strengths, and weaknesses. Nutrition, to educate that natural plant-based food given by this earth fuel the very mechanisms of our cells that produce energy and allow us to function at our most highest potential. Fitness, offered in various forms, teaches us that humans are designed for movement. It allows us to keep our structural bodies strong, our mental states clear, and boosts our spiritual confidence.

Tell us about yourself

I've been an athlete my whole life. I'm absolutely in awe of learning and educating myself about the body's anatomy, food components, and mental wellbeing. What was first an educative pursuit of understanding the science of health and wellness became a spiritual journey in finding my own truth. Healing my heart of pain, journeying within the deep ends of my soul. I started out working as a Personal Trainer and Nutritionist. Helping clients get healthy and being of service in which brought me great fulfillment. I was introduced to Reiki healing by a close friend of mine, in which focuses on energy healing and aligning your inner chakra centers. After becoming certified as a Reiki practitioner, I started to realize that health was more than just a scientific explanation. My journey through battling with my own depression and spiritual dissociations helped me face my traumas and blocks that kept me repeating the same destructive patterns in my life that were unhealthy and unfulfilling to my body, mind, and spirit. Each day, what motivates me to work on my business is the concept of understanding that you cannot heal another without healing yourself. There is always something new to learn, and no person is the same. The exchange and fulfillment that I receive by helping my clients get healthy and reach their goals are healing for me. The exchange is often mutual, and often I find that when I share their journey of healing, we both benefit.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Honestly, every day, every week, every month, and every year, is an accomplishment for me. When I started my business, all I had was a name with no plan. Haha. It was when I surrendered to the journey that I found myself creating something that was bigger than I would have ever dreamed of. The process and strength it takes for me to represent my business in the most honest and integral way have put me through tremendous obstacles and opportunities, in always keeping an open mind, never being afraid to learn something new, and NEVER giving up in the face of adversity. Always keep the faith, even when blind. The biggest accomplishment for me is the amount of people that I have helped throughout the years of this journey. The thank-you's and the warm appreciation that I receive from clients are accomplishments that I will cherish my whole life. These are the moments that make this all worth it, knowing that I am making a difference in people's lives.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things for me is swallowing my pride and recognizing that no matter how much you know, and how much you learn, and how much effort and expertise you put into a session, you will not be able to make every single person on this planet, happy. There are 8-9 billion people in this world that come from different backgrounds, hold different experiences, and view different perspectives. Each person is unique, and not everyone will hold the same Truth and perception in which I do. At times, it can be hard to hear that a client does not agree or does not share the same views in a session as I do. I take great pride in what I know, so naturally, receiving this type of feedback at times is not easy. Although, like my mother always tells me, " Rozalia be prepared to know that everything that you know and have learned in this world is wrong." We can never hold all the knowledge to the whole pie.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Do not be afraid to make mistakes. We are humans that are designed for Trial and Error. Mistakes are how we learn.
  2. Keep an open mind, and do not be afraid to try something new. In this day and age, small-minded thinking won't get you far. You need to be prepared to know when you are wrong, and you need to constantly be expansive and adaptable. The market is always changing, and technology and the economy are rapidly transforming and undergoing evolution. Do not be asleep on it :)
  3. Never EVER give up. Owning a business is not easy, and at first, you are wearing all the hats. Always come back to yourself, and ask yourself why you started this in the first place. Life will throw challenges at you, and you need to be willing to fall down in order to gain strength and resilience to pick yourself back up. Enjoy what you do. If you are not happy with what you are offering, change it up, spice it up. If you are not satisfied and passionate about what you do, it will reflect in your business, and customers and clients will be able to tell.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

We are all just souls seeking to find our place in this world. Let's be good to each other and focus on non-judgment, peace, resolution, and creating harmony with others and our planet.
