What's your business, and who are your customers?

Our Brand name is BLUE TEA, and we sell Indian Ayurvedic Herbal Teas all around the world. We bought a change in the life of Farmers in India as we brought them into Herbal Tea Farming, thereby increasing their income by 5X. We procure directly from them and sell to our customers the freshest. BLUE TEA is for all who are looking to switch to Ayurvedic Teas and want healthier caffeine-free properties from Tea for Weight loss, Stress Relief, healthier Skin, etc. All those looking forward to a healthier lifestyle are our customers.

Tell us about yourself

The Brand was started by Nitesh Singh and Sunil Chandra Saha in 2018. Both have a similar middle-class background and an intention to create some impact in the world.

Traditionally teas are made from camellia sinensis, and teas were made from its leaves. Also, Tea made from leaves has limited health properties, is Caffeinated, and is bitter in taste. When we saw a drink Blue in Color, made from a natural Butterfly Pea Flower ( Clitoria Ternatea), then we thought, why not launch a Blue Tea which will be made from Flowers, Caffeine Free, Ayurvedic in nature and has a mild sweetness. That's when our Brand " BLUE TEA" started. In the beginning, initiated with Butterfly Pea Flower and later on launched a whole range of Flowers Teas like Chamomile, Hibiscus, Lavender, Rose, Jasmine, etc., and became specialized in serving Flower-based Tea. We believe that Flowers has so many health benefits to offer in our unhealthy and stressful life.

We are motivated by the intention of creating a bigger impact in the life of people, be it our customers or employees, or farmers.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

We are able to make an impact in the lives of 200 Farmers' Families by switching them from normal to Herbal Tea Flower Farming. We are able to grow their income by 5X. We have kept a target of bringing 1000 farmers into Herbal Tea Farming. Since we are buying from Farmers directly, consumers are getting the Freshest Teas. Also, we were recently Featured on Shark Tank India Season 2.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Meeting the expectations of people related to us like employees, vendors, Farmers, regulatory authorities, and consumers.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Have a belief in yourself and the people around you.
  2. Be like a child and always learn and grow
  3. Making an impact socially as a business should not just profit; it should also be for social well-being.
