What's your business, and who are your customers?

Bloomers Intimates designs comfortable, sexy lingerie for women of all ages. Had a baby, added a few years, or a few pounds - our bodies change all the time. And while we want to feel comfortable, we don't want to give up the confidence that comes from looking pretty and sexy.

Tell us about yourself

In a prior life, I built a successful software company, and after it was acquired, I mentored entrepreneurs for several years. When I realized that lingerie vendors target young women willing to sacrifice comfort for style, and I couldn't find anything for the rest of us, I started Bloomers Intimates with my daughter. What motivates us every day is that we solve a real problem for tens of millions of women.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Identifying and meeting a real customer need. We hear back from customers 30 years old to 80 telling us that they love our products, that our products flatter their bodies, that they are so comfortable, and that they'd been looking for something like them forever.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

There are so many things to take care of on a day-to-day basis, and only so many hours in the day. Prioritizing and juggling the different tasks is a big challenge.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Identify a pain point that enough people suffer from that will pay you enough to solve it so that you can build a successful business.
  2. Find business partners to complement your skill set that you know you can trust 100%.
  3. Find the best people you can to build a team to implement your ideas.
