Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in financial advising, but not sure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Keegan Francis, co-founder of Atlantic Blockchain Company. Keegan is also a content creator and hosts his podcast series from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Tell us all about your business...

We converted 100% of our money into Bitcoin, both personally and as a business. We help other companies and individuals adopt bitcoin at whatever pace is right for them. We have a podcast called Go Full Crypto that documents this journey. We interview people in the industry and break down financial literacy for our listeners.

What's your background and motivation to grow as a solopreneur?

Both Mrugakshee and I (Founders) have our computer science degrees from Acadia University. While there, we stumbled upon bitcoin and found it was the natural intersection between economics and computer science. These fields are intensely interesting to us both, and we see working on bitcoin as the primary means of improving the quality of life for individuals not just in our back yard (Canada) from all around the world.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Being able to take a salary from our company and not relying on anyone else to bring in the cash flow. We haven't taken any investment, and we're cash-flow positive with 5-8 contractors abroad.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a solopreneur?

Negotiations are hard. I find it difficult to say "no" when in reality, that's often the best thing I could say at the moment.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Start now.
  2. Network, network, network!
  3. Adopt the latest technology, and automate everything/anything you can.
