What's your business, and who are your customers?
@BizOrlandoFL continues to build an online platform (combined with local events) to provide a way for customers to shop locally on their schedule. From handcrafted cards to unique gift ideas & packaging, @BizOrlandoFL offers a unique shopping experience both online & in-person.
Tell us about yourself
My goal has always been to utilize the skills I learned in my corporate life to apply them to my own business efforts -- while generating the same income (if not more) on my own terms. My passion for creating & supporting local artists & businesses is the best & most fulfilling compensation for me.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
When I first envisioned what life would be like after leaving corporate & venturing out on my own, I started from ground zero to rebuild what I appreciate each day. With each passing year, my circle of community support affords me to balance all of my different passions into one unified purpose.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Learning to survive with the unknowns of income or fulfilling basic needs is the scariest & hardest part. But I've learned to trust each day as part of the journey. Thru relentless resilience, unexpected provisions validate the sacrifices made along the way.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Choose wisely on investments with as much cash on hand as possible & continue to reinvest bit by bit to scale up steadily.
- Trust in your own vision. Those around you may not understand it because they don't own your vision or unique perspective.
- Fiercely guard your boundaries. One of the most vital & beneficial ways I've rebuilt my business model is to limit accessibility when I need to brainstorm, recharge, reset or get back on track. As an empath, it's the best way for me to continue maintaining my positive energy & laser-focused drive.
