What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am Steve Feld, an MBA-educated Business Marketing Strategist, TEDx presenter, Author, award-winning Business Management Executive, and coffee enthusiast. I have worked with over 600 businesses to assist them in obtaining clarity, implementing a solid strategic plan, and achieving positive growth results. My focus is on the foundation of the business to ensure the best possible outcome.

I am extremely passionate about helping businesses grow, operate efficiently, and thrive for long-term success. I have personally owned, operated, and built up seven businesses and provided change management and process improvement to three others. I have also had the privilege of working for three Fortune 500 companies, where I successfully operated a division for each. Additionally, I have improved operations for businesses globally, not just in the United States. Lastly, I have written eight books for small business owners on business.

Tell us about yourself

I have owned and operated seven businesses, turned around three others, and assisted hundreds of entrepreneurs in growing their businesses. I am very fortunate that I have found my passion in working with fellow business owners so they can build successful long-term businesses.

Fueled by my passion for seeing businesses survive and overcome the challenges they will face keeps me moving. I have even written eight books for small business owners to help them run their businesses and reduce all the headaches and confusion.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner was in my second business. I built it up very quickly by understanding my target market and solving their problems, hired lots of staff. Then sold it, which was the goal of that business. The business was less than two years old.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things about being a business owner is learning and knowing when it's time to give up control of your business and hire people to do specific tasks that you will no longer do. The only way to grow your business is by hiring staff.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

The top 3 tips I do give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business are:

  1. Get help. You can't do everything yourself.
  2. Know your target market. Everyone is NOT your target market. You must really know and understand who you serve; otherwise, it will be difficult to sell your product or services.
  3. Understand your target market's problems and how you solve them. Be able to communicate that clearly.
