What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are Building Information Modeling consultants, which essentially equates to digital construction with smart information attached to it. We help Contractors, Architects, Engineers, and building owners to realize their potential with BIM.
Tell us about yourself
I got lucky to have an opportunity to be a part of emerging technology when I first got into the industry and became obsessed with this awesome tool. I love seeing how BIM can change a business, and it motivates me to show people how to build a culture that embraces it. BIM is the future of construction and facility management, and I am excited to be one of the leaders in this space.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Being able to give back to the community that we love being a part of. We are able to tutor kids at local schools, sponsor events, and help to raise money for charities.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Surviving ... Late nights, long hours, tons of uncertainty, no financial guarantees, but it's all worth it.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Make a plan for when things get rough. Things are easier when you have a plan.
Make sure you don't get too set in your ways, be adaptable and flexible. When something doesn't work, take a step back and try something else.
Don't try to do everything yourself. There are tons of experts out who are just like you. Get out there, network, and meet some people.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Take the leap, it's scary as hell, and maybe it won't work. But someone is going to be successful, and it might as be you.
