Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in career and business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Dr. Jeff Danielson, founder of Big Fish Enterprises, located in Burnsville, MN, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I pay it forward to young entrepreneurs in the chiropractic and restaurant industries. My customers are young, excited entrepreneurs in these two fields.

Tell us about yourself

I became frustrated with my profession that experienced doctors were not helping and mentoring younger doctors. So I decided to invest in younger doctors by helping them buy practices. Both my faith and my passion for helping the next generation become successful are what motivate me.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Launching 11 young chiropractors into ownership of clinics. And creating a restaurant culture, that rewards young people who want to take the steps toward entrepreneurship.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

When you invest in and manage people, you also get to see the messy side of people. This, of course, also gives me the opportunity to help turn messy into something much better.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Invest in your own development.
  2. Don't do it all yourself.
  3. Look for opportunities to pay it forward.
