Tell us about yourself

My name is Ashley Willis, and I am a dedicated and passionate licensed clinical therapist. I hold a Bachelor's in Sociology from UC Riverside, Masters's in Social Work from Azusa Pacific University, and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) certification. I have over 10 years of clinical experience working with individuals and their families suffering from a wide range of issues, including depression, bipolar, anxiety, and low self-esteem.

My therapeutic techniques include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and strengths perspective. As a Christian, I enjoy integrating spirituality into my therapeutic practice with my client’s consent being that spirituality is very effective at helping individuals cope with mental illness.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

The biggest accomplishment for me is being able to make a greater impact on others and bring value to their lives. When I am working with clients, they don’t always share their thoughts or their suffering, but I constantly pray and ask God to help me make a great impact on my clients by helping them identify their strengths and purpose in life.

We must find our purpose in order to be fulfilled in life. Without a purpose, we are empty.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest thing about being a business owner is having inconsistent income every month. My faith in God has really helped me manage this difficult aspect of being a business owner.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

The top three tips are:

  1. You have to first visualize yourself there in that position of leadership, running your own successful company.
  2. Building confidence and believing that you can accomplish your goals is key to success. You must believe in yourself before others will.
  3. Persistence and perseverance are key elements to success. Never give up because bad times will always be present.
