Tell us about yourself

I was a top salesperson in the US for Chevron. I developed strategies that made me successful, and I want to share them with others who value being successful in sales.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Seeing the results I've achieved working with salespeople. One salesperson attributed our work together to be the reason for his success. Also, writing Monday Morning Sales Tips and Real World Selling.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Picking priorities to focus on. There is so much you could do. You have to have a process to prioritize.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Be organized.
  2. Be a good judge of people to know who you can rely on.
  3. Always be learning.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Recognize that everyone is in sales. You are selling your ideas and supporting them all the time. Selling is a wonderful skill to have. It's not being pushy and manipulative. (The Real Deal Sales Blog)
