What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am in the Life Coaching industry, and my focus is on helping the community of Latino women.
Tell us about yourself
I am originally from Lima, Peru, where I earned my degree in Clinical Psychology. I worked for many years with children in family therapy. Here in the U.S., I obtained my certification as a Life Coach and, a few years later, became a certified Master Coach. The life coaching training, combined with my experience in clinical psychology, gave me the opportunity to create programs designed to help the Latino women in my community.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment is the women's education awareness I have created in the Latino community through my coaching programs.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
The biggest challenge is to maintain my ethical professional orientation in the face of so much competition that does not provide a correct sense of the subject of life coaching.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Be prepared for temporary setbacks.
- Plan everything to the minutest details, even though you may have to change your plans in the middle of the course. Remember this: Failing to plan is planning to fail.
- Have faith.
