What's your business, and who are your customers?
I accompany individuals and organizations through the more challenging times in their professional lives. As an executive coach for leadership, entrepreneurship, and high-performance teams, I do that.
Tell us about yourself
It took me a long time to arrive at my "Ikigai," where my passion meets with what I am good at, what my world needs, and what I get paid for. I was the only opera singer to become CFO and CEO of tech companies with EUR 250m turnover. I was also the only CEO and Artistic Director of a major concert hall to bring his startup to Silicon Valley. But being a coach is what fulfills me. Every day, on my way home, I am immensely grateful for the trust people give me. I could not think of anything more worthwhile for me to work with.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My most significant accomplishments are my clients. I am filled with happiness when they shine, when they go out and dare, and when they not only reach their dreams but exceed them. It is their accomplishments which make me proud.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
I have enjoyed the passion and the success of being a business owner, as well as the fear and the doubt. There are times when you feel alone. There are times when it is challenging financially. But when you believe in what you do and have the courage to look at your business from various perspectives, often with the help of others, you will succeed.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Follow your passion, and don't doubt yourself!
- Regularly take a step back and look at the business instead of being in it, best with a trusted outsider.
- Never give up. Go for it. You can do it. You will eventually get there even if you have to change the route toward your goal.
