Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Irina Cheva, CEO of BeautyDermaPro, located in Naples, FL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is the permanent organic makeup and skin rejuvenation clinic BeautyDermaPro. The services that we provide help customers gain confidence and look their best. Our customers are seekers of an easy, breezy, and beautiful life. Because with permanent makeup and glowing skin, they confidently move forward to the expansion and expression of who they really are and what they are here for.

Tell us about yourself

Since a young age, I have had multiple skin issues, and I couldn't tolerate my looks at all. I went through various treatments for a number of years with little to no results. My self-esteem was going rapidly down as I was getting older. However, I was determined to improve my being and find a solution to my problem. With my background in science and research, I was able to understand what my skin really needs, and I developed a skincare line that was launched in Hollywood, CA, in 2018. This is the only product I have used for my face since I developed it 7 years ago. Later, I added permanent makeup treatments that helped me enhance and bring out the best in my face. It makes me feel confident, and I spend no time in the morning getting ready for the day. As a result, I have more time to feed myself better, take care of my body, and exercise. And the best part is that I have so much more time to do what brings me the most satisfaction, which is to help someone else look better and feel happier.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment, I'd say, is the ability to give back. I'm proud to say that my business BeautyDermaPro funds Save The Brow Foundation. It's a charity that I established in 2019. Save The Brow Foundation provides permanent makeup services for pre-chemo patients free of charge. The hair of the brows/eyelashes is imitated with microblading and micro pigmentation, so when the patient loses hair due to chemo treatment, they still have facial expressions because their brows and eyelids have permanent makeup.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The hardest thing that comes with being a business owner is being a great parent. I have three daughters that are teenagers now. When you build your business, you live it and breathe it. I'm sure my kids could use more time with me when they were younger, and I was working long hours to establish my business. The business becomes your other baby, and it requires a lot of attention. It's very comforting for me to hear from my girls now that they could not want to have a better mother and that they are proud of my accomplishments.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Dream big and live the unfolding of your dreams.
  2. Education is the key. Study yourself. No matter what, always keep learning and developing.
  3. Customer service, customer service, customer service!
