What's your business, and who are your customers?
We offer mobile makeup, hair styling, and Kimono (traditional Japanese clothes) fitting services for weddings, headshots, portraitures, videos, and other special occasions. Also, we do small event planning and running for photographers and studio owners. We have recently started natural skin care products for cat owners.
Tell us about yourself
I have been working in the travel industry for a long time, and I am still a tour guide in Toronto - Niagara regions. At the same time, I took a part-time makeup course because I wanted to participate in making films. In the beginning, it was just a hobby. But when I started helping with event organizing for one of the photographers' meetup groups in Toronto, I felt organizing events was fun to me. Since then, I have been organizing photo shoot events and working with local models, hair stylists, clothing designers, photographers, and studio owners. What motivates me is providing business to local freelancers / small business owners, even if it's a little for now.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
It's not really an accomplishment as I am still learning every day, but "learning how to communicate with people as a leader" is my biggest accomplishment and how to take responsibility.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Marketing!!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
