What's your business, and who are your customers?
Beautiology is a boutique makeup studio and spa. Offering bespoke treatments to professional women who are looking to make lifestyle changes to see results. We help you study your true beauty and love yourself starting within.
Tell us about yourself
I started in the beauty industry 13 years ago, focusing on freelance makeup artistry. I transitioned into being a skin specialist years later, falling more and more with facials. Seeing my clients happy with their results and being an expert in the aesthetics field is rewarding. I truly love what I do, and that's what motivates me. I also have a 15-month-old son, and not only for myself but for him, I strive every day to make things happen. I've always been a go-getter, but now more than ever, success for me looks different than before; I am empathetic and passionate, which I feel is an asset to being in the beauty industry.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Being open for seven years and sustaining through this pandemic.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Knowing and sticking to my boundaries both in personal and business.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Create a solid business plan.
- Learn from another business before going solo, don't be prideful.
- Create systems and delegate whatever you can (especially the things you dislike and aren't good at).
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Don't aim for perfection... focus on progress!
