What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are Beadedmovements! All of our jewelry is hand-made with semi-precious stones, all 1 of 1, and made for anyone that is looking for a spiritual hand on their healing journey.
Tell us about yourself
I started this business about five years ago. To tell you the truth, I just wanted to see if I remembered how to make knots! Things didn't work out, and life got hectic, so I stopped. About three years ago, I started my helping journey, and boom! A friend asked me to make some bracelets for her, and I haven't stopped making them. Started to learn about the healing properties of Semi-precious stones like the Quartz, Jade, Onyx, Amethyst, Garnet, and Agates, just to name a few. I felt that they helped with my healing, and if they could offer comfort to me, maybe I could help others! And that's how I got started again!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My Business. I never thought in a million years that this would be happening. Through this business, I have been able to speak passionately about something I love. Healing is never easy; it doesn't matter what it is you are healing from. The simple fact that I can educate people on the different types of stones and some of their healing properties is awesome for me! I get to meet new people, and I also learn from some people I meet. The look on someone's face when they find "their" jewelry is very heartwarming. I love that people love them as much as I do!
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
There are days when I wish I had more than one head and two arms, lol. Money and organization, I would say, are my next 2! Everything costs, and if you are not organized, it will cost you more. There is a time when I think I'm not cut out for this, but I never will give up. I love this!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
First, I would say, make sure this is something you have time, patience, and are passionate about. Second, find a way to stand out and figure out something new on an old idea! Third, understand that not everyone will see and understand "your" vision. Your plans will change, but as long as the original goal is still in play, you got this! Be able to stand on your own and understand that it is a process. Just like the healing process, It's very empowering!
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
I tell my customers "that even if you don't believe in the healing properties of the stones, you have just added a super cute piece to your collection!"
