Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Nicole Batiste, Owner of Be Well with Nikki, located in Bowie, MD, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a mindfulness Educator, Transcendence Catalyst, and Empowerment Wellness & Life Coach who helps women recognize and release past failures, pains, and outdated subconscious programming, so they are equipped to create the life they want. It really is time to own your power. I work with high achievers who are looking to strengthen their inner relationships so they can embody who they are on a deeper level and take over the world! Okay, maybe not the whole world, but who knows. 😁

Tell us about yourself

Some people inherently know something isn't right and are naturally driven to seek answers, then take action. Yeah, I wasn't one of them. I had to cut my way through a lot of self-worth and esteem issues to arrive where I am. Once cutting through that, I had to stop playing small and learn how to own who I was and be unapologetic about it. There are a lot of amazingly powerful women and men out there who still let life determine their life. That means we are all deprived of who they can be and the gifts they were put on this earth to share. That's fair to no one.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Shifting into drive, pivoting into what feels more aligned so I can show up more completely and help others do the same.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Personal discipline for me. I enjoy freedom. But at some point, you realize more freedom comes from doing the things you don't want to do. It's an investment.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Whoever your higher source is to you, aligning with that divine being will help guide you and keep you on your path, especially when things feel a bit shaky or uncertain.
  2. Do you want a job or a business? Working for yourself and wearing all the hats is more of a job. It's fine to start there but know how much you want to grow and plan your business accordingly.
  3. Inner shadow work is a must. If you have blocks around money, happiness, ease, and flow, biz life will be extra tough.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I have a YouTube channel where I currently interview holistic practitioners. I'll be starting another podcast as well.

Also, it's easier to go fast and just do it than slow. Slow gives you time to talk yourself out of stuff. So, find the speed that enables you to keep momentum.
