Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Bobbi McGrath, owner of Be For You, LLC, located in Wheaton, IL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a Certified Regenerative Health & Detox solo practitioner who provides health coaching to middle age women and men who have been struggling with chronic conditions that conventional medicine is not able to support them with. My approach combines an organic whole super food eating lifestyle with organic herbal support protocols while focusing on opening the detox pathways with simple at-home activities, so the body can do what it was designed to do, which is maintain optimal health.

Tell us about yourself

I became a certified health coach because of experiences I have had throughout my life, watching family members and friends struggle with their health and even lose their life to conditions that boil down to inflammation, stagnation, and poor choices. I have had my own health journey recovering from mold and heavy metal toxicity, and I want to support anyone who is ready to make changes in their life that will support their health for the long haul. I have a passion for educating, inspiring, and, most of all, helping people make the changes necessary to move the needle by taking action and being held accountable. My specialization in detoxification has opened my heart and eyes to the impact trauma has on our health and how many people have no idea that the baggage in their memory and nervous system is the main thing holding back vibrant health. I am motivated every day to find simple tips I can share with people that can be game changers when it comes to self-care and tuning into their health.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner has been starting from nothing, with no clients, no money, and no business skills, and creating a profitable business that works well with my current lifestyle and time commitment. I recently became certified in Regenerative Health and Detox in addition to my Health Coaching certificate, and that has changed my practice focus tremendously.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things about being a business owner for me is to stay focused on revenue-generating activities. I am a lifelong learner, and I can get consumed with learning more but not have as many people as I'd like to share the information with.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

My business tips are:

  1. Start your business day with your top 3 priorities first, then move on to the fun or creative stuff.
  2. You can't help everyone and do everything, so ask yourself, is this the next right move, or do I need to be patient and wait until this opportunity is right for me?
  3. Find a community of like-minded business owners and glean from their experiences. If they've been through it, then they will have a perspective you won't have yet.
