What's your business, and who are your customers?
I own a carry-out-based bakery & cafe that focuses on scratch-made breakfast and brunch items centered around biscuits! Our customers are hungry people looking for high-quality, made-from-scratch, with-love breakfast that is served to go! We attract individuals on their way to work, families feeding the crew on the weekend, as well as offices wanting to give their employees the best breakfast around! (We've even put together tailgate packages and NYE parties!)
Tell us about yourself
My favorite job was always waiting tables! I truly enjoyed the hospitality aspect of working in food service. After several years of practicing law, I just couldn't get over the feeling that I was meant to do something more kind. Always been a cooking and baking enthusiast, and after an inspirational trip to Charleston, SC, the biscuit biz was born!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
The simple fact is that we are still up and running despite opening in the middle of a global pandemic!
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Never truly having a day off. There is always something to do for the business, whether that's paying bills, ordering supplies, making the schedule for the week, or thinking of marketing ideas- it never ends!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Research your market- check out your competition (if any!) and have a plan to differentiate yourself.
