Tell us about yourself
Since my parents were construction business owners, I started my career running my own construction business. Simply because that was what I knew best and had the entrepreneurial vibe in me. At the age of 32, however, as a mom of 2 toddlers and a baby, being happily married for 5 years, I was diagnosed with stage 4-skin cancer, which made me think about my purpose and my legacy.
After surviving cancer, I was dedicated to following my passion and leaving a positive legacy. That's when I started a coaching and consulting business that is fully in alignment with my passion and talents. Bringing a message of Powerful Kindness is my mission. Building a positive legacy in this way inspires me to get up every single day :)
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Growing my revenue (and profit) for the past 5 years while doing what I love. Also, having a Talk last Summer at Harvard University about Powerful Kindness was one of my biggest accomplishments.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The tough decisions always have to be made by you. A lot of responsibility is involved in running a business.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Be very clear about your why and your message. What is it that you want to bring into the world? Who and what will it serve?
- Be patient. Always make decisions that benefit you long-term.
- Make the necessary calculations. Become financially literate.
