Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Volker Ballueder, Founder of Ballueder Partners, located in Hassocks, West Sussex, UK.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

As an interim and fractional sales consultant, I work with technology and SaaS start-ups and scale-ups. That means I can come in and work more strategically or more hands-on to (re-)structure sales, marketing, and client success and look at processes and workflows. I also mentor and coach teams and founders.

Tell us about yourself

I love the variety of working with different clients and technologies. Each challenge is different, and making a difference in revenue growth is highly rewarding.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Scaling my own business is an accomplishment, but positive client feedback is the biggest thing for me. I love doing good work, and when clients acknowledge that, recommend you, and are happy, that's what it is all about.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Working on a project while constantly looking for new business.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Be good at sales. If not, give me a call ;-)
  2. Look at the scalability of your business and get expert advice early on.
  3. Go for it. You have nothing to lose.
