What's your business, and who are your customers?
Ballroom Avenue LLC offers private ballroom dance lessons in Columbus, Ohio, for any occasion. We offer private dance lessons for wedding dances, father-daughter dances, mother-son dances, bridal party dances, social dancing, competitive dancing, and kid's dance classes.
Our students range anywhere from the age of 6 to the age of 80 and come from all walks of life! The dance family we have created is full of wonderful people who have found our business and their passion for dancing.
Tell us about yourself
For the longest time, I have worked for other dance companies, and during the pandemic, I made a choice to start my own business as it had always been a dream of mine. Seeing how happy my students are and the community dancing creates me every day to do what I do. It also helps that teaching dance is a big passion of mine, and I really love what I do!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
As a business owner, my biggest accomplishment is finally being able to make a living just off of my creative work and not needing another job on the side to support me.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hardest thing about being a business owner is the risk that you take. Every day I strive to grow my business and continue doing new and innovative things to help nurture what I am building. It's hard for me to take a day off when I know that I have not achieved some of my business goals.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
The top three tips I have for anyone looking to start a business would be to set achievable goals on a daily/weekly basis, don't be afraid to try new things, and be persistent!

If you haven't tried taking a ballroom dance class once in your life, it is something that you must try!
