What's your business, and who are your customers?
I help hot air balloon operators and pilots to manage their companies in a more enjoyable way. Paperwork is hard, and I help them to make it as easy as possible.
Tell us about yourself
By luck, I started working in the ballooning business, then I got my pilot license to understand my customers better, and ten years later, I keep in love with hot air balloons and how it allows me to travel to many countries and meet people.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Build my own lifestyle and enjoy my family of four while struggling with all paperwork, taxes, etc. My biggest daily accomplishment is keeping my internal flame on with all normal-life inputs willing to extinguish it.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Government bureaucracy and international limitations. The world is a real open market where you can get customers or new projects, but governments run every country as an island, so you almost need to start a new business in each country.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Do ONLY whatever you love if you can afford it. If you cannot afford it, do only whatever brings you to the position where you will be able. Enjoy your time. With or without money, there are thousands of beautiful things to do. Everybody can work hard to get food and accommodation, but if this is not your case, that’s not your place. Move somewhere else.
