What's your business, and who are your customers?
Pelvic Pain Solutions is a female-owned business focusing on providing daily living products to ease pelvic and lower back pain. We are the designers and manufacturers of medical-grade seat cushions that are made from the highest quality materials built for all shapes and sizes. Our customers range from children to seniors needing comfort while sitting, driving, or traveling.
Tell us about yourself
As a young child, I suffered a slide accident at the age of 5, where my pelvis was fractured. Over the years, I struggled to find comfortable seat cushions that would ease my pain at home, work, or travel. I honestly felt like Goldilocks trying cushion after cushion that either felt too soft, too hard or increased my pain.
It was then I decided to use the knowledge and create my own cushion line to help others. What motivates me is the customer interaction and relationships developed throughout the years. We are supportive when they feel overwhelmed with pain and in need of products that provide freedom to drive or sit in comfort.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
We earned the trust and respect of top leaders in the pelvic rehabilitation field, who now refer their patients to us for comfort.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Keeping a balance between home and work life can be challenging. I love what I do, so putting in long hours doesn't seem to affect me. However, I am learning that it is healthy to reduce the hours to devote to other areas of my life.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- I would start with using technology to set the foundation for growth and expansion.
- Be ready to commit 100% to whatever you do.
- Remember to have fun and recall what it is that drives you each day to get up and do it again.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
So many of us are facing many challenges with all that is happening in the world. It can be overwhelming at times. I try to start my day with a sense of appreciation and gratitude for even the smallest of things.
