What's your business, and who are your customers?

I'm a flavor guy, and I make products for people who love the flavor. B.T. Leigh's is an award-winning gourmet sauce and spice company that pushes the boundaries on traditional flavors.

Tell us about yourself

The biggest endorphin rush for me is making people happy. I also like to push boundaries, which I mean in the best sense. Cliché as it may sound, watching someone enjoy flavors they never occurred to combine, let alone enjoy, gives me this rush of excitement and satisfaction. And I've been doing it since I was like 4.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Since starting B.T. Leigh's, I've been honored with some of the highest culinary awards in my industry and have been featured on The Great American Recipe as a contestant.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The work never ends. You better love what you do.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

First and foremost, love what you do. Second, you must be your biggest champion and endorser. Third, small business is not for the faint of heart - it's long hours, it's trial and error, it's nights where you doubt everything before you feel that win that makes it all worthwhile. You have to live tips one and two.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Also cliche, but never be afraid to fail. Failing means you tried. Take your shot, even if it means failing.
