What's your business, and who are your customers?
I'm a brand strategist and designer for creative, women-led businesses. I specialize in crafting high-converting visual brands that empower my clients to consistently connect with their ideal clients, charge premium rates for their services, and position themselves as the experts they are!
Tell us about yourself
I started my business back in 2012 because I saw the potential in helping women-led, service-based businesses tell their stories through strategic branding. The impact that we can have through the work we do gives us a chance to actually shape the kind of world we live in. And helping my clients create that kind of positive impact while generating the revenue they need fires me up even all these years later!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I'd say that over the last 11 years, I've been able to help thousands of clients and students is one of my favorite accomplishments so far. Each client project and the wins they experience after we work together have a special place in my heart, so I couldn't narrow it down to just one.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Running an online business is challenging enough, but the unlimited amount of access we have to industry experts, coaches, and educators can create a lot of noise. I think one of the most challenging things about being an online business owner is knowing how to tune out some of that noise and tune in to your own intuition. You started your business for a reason, and you've made it this far by no mistake! Don't be afraid to trust yourself.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Echoing what I shared above, trust yourself. You're capable of making quality decisions that propel your business forward, so don't second-guess yourself so much.
- Get clear about why you're creating this business in the first place. Entrepreneurship is a marathon, not a sprint. So when you're facing challenges or making important decisions, revisiting the Why behind your work can help keep you focused and grounded.
- Action creates clarity. Remember that the next time you feel overwhelmed by all the options you're facing. You don't need to know the "right" way to do something or the "best" path forward. You just need to take action, choose your next step, and course correct if needed. I promise that once you get moving, that action helps to highlight the way forward. But waiting to have all the answers until you start will only keep you stuck longer.
