What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and vocal coach who changes and saves lives through my music and brand! My customers are daily music listeners in their cars, at work, at home, etc. I also am a vocal coach who teaches my students not just how to use their voice on stage but, more importantly, off stage.

I work on my self-confidence and self-love. Once this is grasped, the sky is the limit for everyone and everything to manifest. Self-confidence ensures that student enjoys listening to themselves. If they love it, then they will offer it to the world with that love. Love always wins! Always!

Tell us about yourself

I first started pursuing my passion after the birth of my three daughters. I wanted to be sure they grew up in an environment with the understanding of limitless talent and that when you do what you love, it really isn't "work." Because I myself was a special education teacher at the time of their birth and wasn't pursuing my true passion, even though I was being rewarded on a daily basis, I thought, if I myself wasn't doing what I truly wanted in life, how would my daughters grow up understanding this concept? Live by example, so to speak.

So I bought myself a $5000 guitar, taught myself how to play, started writing my own material, started marketing myself as a singer, and went from singing at farmers' markets to being the opening act for legendary artists such as Kenny Loggins and Air Supply. Today I am about to release my second album, which is produced by one of Smooth Jazz's #1 contemporary artists on the Billboard Charts, who created this phenomenal modern classic rock album. I have attracted into my life legendary musicians such as percussionist Oliver C. Brown, an original member of KC and the Sunshine Band, and the Mick Fleetwood Blues Band.

What motivates me each day is life itself and the passion I have for being able to change and save lives through my music and brand. I do this because of the way it makes me feel, which is alive, and what better way is there to live life than knowing you are making a positive difference in someone else's life? There isn't any. This is what it's all about. No matter how small or big. It's about giving back to others. That is what motivates me to keep climbing.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is my belief in myself. Without it, I wouldn't have the product and will to teach others.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

For me, personally, it's marketing. I would say if I had the skills of a marketing person that has the same writing and singing skills as myself, I would be in a different place.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Take one step, no matter how small or big it is, each day. Just one action step is one step closer. Keep the steps small and doable to ensure success. That is what will keep you going. Don't set yourself up for unaccomplished days. You are the captain of your ship. Drive it how you want.
  2. See yourself already there by visualizing it in just 15 minutes each day. Yep. It is scientifically proven that this works! Simple. Do it!
  3. Do the work! No one else is going to do it for you. However, through your imagination of seeing people working for you, you will attract them into your life at some point. Again, scientific proof. But you must do step two and create the feelings of all the things you want and see for your business. And this is where you simply go wild with your imagination.
    Remember what Albert Einstein said, "Logic takes you from A to B., But IMAGINATION takes you EVERYWHERE." Just do it!
