What's your organization, and who are your members?
Awake and Bold is about educating our communities about child trafficking. We founded Awake & Bold in 2020 to educate people about this horrific industry. Our first goal is to spread awareness about life-saving hand signals through billboards and other marketing tools
Tell us about yourself
800,000 children go missing each year in the United States.
I’m an author, speaker, strategic thought leader, and proud mother. I’ve always gravitated towards assisting others and have continued in that vein throughout my life. As a visionary and a connector, I love to bring people together for common goals. Being introduced to the world of child trafficking was far more than I thought I could handle, but I knew my heart was leading me to get more deeply involved. And, in whatever way possible to advocate for change & hopefully contribute to a solution.
What's your biggest accomplishment as an organization?
We have billboards and brochures that teach parents and teachers about a simple hand signal that can alert someone that the child is in trouble and call 911. Several kids have been saved by this.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being an organization?
Organizing all the efforts of those on our team to disseminate information..... Putting on town hall meetings to inform the public....
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow an organization today?
- Make sure that you are passionate about what you're creating.
- Get those passionate about what you are creating to come on board to assist.
