Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Avital Miller, founder of Avital P. G. Miller, LLC., located in Aurora, CO, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We create galactic experiences for personal upliftment, conscious fun, supporting charity, cultivating community, boosting the local economy through giving local businesses and entrepreneurs opportunities for exposure, and awakening creativity and expansion. These experiences happen one to one or one to many, whether in person or virtual, so that people can experience boundless energy, absolute happiness, and true success.

Tell us about yourself

Many people are curious for what reason a former Microsoft program manager is involved with healing, speaking, and events. It’s personal. Microsoft is a great company, but it did not feel like it was for me. I transitioned into being a yoga instructor, teacher trainer, and fitness director, teaching 25-30 classes all over town! I was known as the Energizer Bunny!

That was until I started having issues with fatigue, my hair falling out, and my muscles turning to fat. I was getting weaker than my students and wondering if I would be out of the job. I turned flush white while teaching a spinning class, and my students told me I needed to go to the emergency room.

The doctor diagnosed me with an autoimmune disorder called Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and Hypothyroidism. They gave me a large dosage of medication, recommended a handful of supplements, and sent me out the door saying that was it for life.

As if this was an arranged marriage, I figured I better learn a lot about these diseases if I am going to live with them for the rest of my life. I started to read books, search the internet, and visit all types of medical practitioners, including studying 1-1 with an Ayurvedic doctor in India. All of that helped me feel balanced on a daily basis which was my first miracle.

The next thing I did was start to meditate. After a couple of months, surprisingly, I did not feel well. My doctor ran some tests and then told me I had overdosed on my medication. We lowered my medication, I felt better, continued to meditate, and then did not feel well again. We lowered my dosage again as if I was going from medication to meditation!

All of a sudden, I started meeting people who were given terminal diagnoses years before and were perfectly healthy at the moment. Being fascinated by their stories and that may be fatal pronouncements do not have to be our fate, I interviewed all kinds of health and healing experts with stories of healing from terminal diagnoses that they saw repeated in their clients and put them in my book Healing Happens: Stories of Healing Against All Odds.

Healing Happens has won four awards, hit Amazon bestseller, and I took it traveling around the world speaking on the success strategies as they relate to all areas of life. I have also kept adding more tools to my bucket with certifications on how to lead meditation, energy healing, and neuro-linguistic programming.

Denver kept inviting me there to speak, and I had a great time on my visits, so I moved there in 2019. It has been exciting to develop a community in Denver to lead in-person and online group and individual programs on how to be happier, more energetic, have a healthy lifestyle, and discover true success.

My process of developing community is by creating events that feel supportive of the hobbies and careers of the group members. Thus creativity and engagement expand, turning a three personal trainer holiday workout and potluck into a 250-person charity event to help end child hunger with a fashion show where sponsors get outfits designed and get to walk the runway, date auction, and dance performances, and more entertainment!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Jumping from a 40-person event to a 250-person charity event called Valentine Soiree in one year while coming out of a pandemic! See more at this site.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Continuing to pursue my vision despite setbacks, starting over, financial instability, and doubts.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. To avoid stress, be patient and don't quit your day job until your business makes the income you want in a steady, dependable manner.
  2. Take the expert's advice and then follow your intuition. Only you can know what and how you are meant to do things.
  3. Look for where there is interest and engagement and pursue those routes. Ask the question, "what is trying to happen?" It is easy to work hard, do more, and push your way into something but is that what is meant to happen? The results will tell you because only what is meant to happen will be successful in the long run.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Be the person like Roger Bannister, who was the first known to beat a four-minute mile. Fatal pronouncements do not have to be your fate. More can transpire than your image. Allow life to unfold and surprise you.
