What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a holistic nutritionist and massage therapist and have been working in the bay area for over 20 years. In my practice, I utilize both modalities to create a unique experience that is specifically tailored to each individual client's needs. Health and wellness have always been my passion. If you don't feel as pain-free and energetic as you would like to be, let's work together to restore your body back to its vibrant natural health.
I am a firm believer in educating my clients about whole foods in an easy, friendly, non-intimidating way. Our body has the innate wisdom to regenerate and regulate itself in order to sustain optimal health and function. We can either make food and lifestyle choices that support our bodies or diminish our well-being. My goal is to assist my clients in discovering the benefits of healthy eating and learning how to listen to the innate wisdom of their own bodies in order to support and sustain health. Making good nutrition and lifestyle choices is essential to living a long, healthy, and productive life.
Tell us about yourself
In 1998 I graduated from the New Mexico Academy of Healing Arts as a certified Massage Therapist. Since then, I have studied many healing modalities and combined them with my practical training in anatomy, pathology, structural integration, and medical massage. This gives me the ability to intuitively discover the hidden pain centers in the body while also addressing structural issues and helping my clients to manage pain. In 2014 I graduated from Hawthorn University as a certified nutritionist. I also worked for a natural medicine doctor, assisting in creating holistic health protocols for her patients and attending nutritional seminars as part of my job. This gave me extensive knowledge and a good foundation even before becoming a nutritionist.
My goal is to empower my clients and learn how to listen to the innate wisdom of their own bodies. This is a wonderful way to facilitate healing and make empowered choices concerning one's health.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
The biggest accomplishment for me is working with someone and seeing them get pain-free as their health improves. It is so rewarding to be able to help facilitate a positive change in someone's life.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
As business owners, we are responsible for our business's success, so it is easy to forget ourselves and work all the time. This can lead to exhaustion and burnout. It is so important to take good care of ourselves. Taking time off and finding a balance between work and play is essential.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Don't give up! Everything takes time; stick with it, and you will succeed.
- Listen to your clients; they are involved in the process.
- Being punctual and being on time are always appreciated.
