What's your business, and who are your customers?
I run a crochet business that makes most sales online through my website! I also do local shows in order to reach out to the people around me!
Tell us about yourself
During quarantine, I was looking for a new pastime to relieve boredom. I attempted to knit, finding that it was very difficult to figure out. I then tried crochet and instantly fell in love! I would crochet every day for hours on end, finding that the things I was crocheting needed to go somewhere. I then opted, about three months into crocheting, to start a shop so I had somewhere for my plushies to go.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment was being selected for Instagram Bonuses, where I was able to create content as part of my business.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
I personally have a lot going on in my life, and allocating sufficient time to work on my business can be rough. I am a student, a member of an independent world-class colorguard, as well as a gymnastics coach. Finding time between all of these things is difficult.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Just do it! You'll never succeed if you don't try.
- Know that the people who support you the most are typically strangers.
- Find other people with similar businesses, and connect. They will be the ones you go to when you are stuck.
