What's your business, and who are your customers?
Our business is Master Roachee's Garden. Our customers are people that want to feel and look good.
Tell us about yourself
I am Matt Avery, aka Master Roachee. I am an Herbalist and have been active in healthcare as an Army medic and later E.M.T. and paramedic. I have always enjoyed helping people but was told, "you will never make a living as an herbalist," so much of what I did went to family and friends. As I read more and started taking CBD and saw a difference, I knew this is what I needed to do. Every day I get a chance to make someone's life a little better.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
The love from our customers. Getting an email from a customer that we helped makes me want to keep going. The greatest accomplishment doesn't have to be tangible.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
So many roles that you have to play and become knowledgeable about, this seems endless. For me, and I don't think that I am alone on this, the hard thing about business is running a business. All of the legal, government paperwork, and bookkeeping are not my strong suits.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Do your research. Extra time researching and planning will save you many headaches in the future. Research your market, your possible competitors, and the legal requirements. How will you market your business?
