Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in jewelry but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Meghan Prentice, Founder of Aurum Co. Jewelry, located in Long Beach, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is Aurum Co. I have a home studio where I design, and hand fabricate minimal fine jewelry, focusing on new readily available collections and custom work that include solid gold, diamonds, and sapphires.

Tell us about yourself

My name is Meghan Prentice and I officially launched my business on the day my son was born and am glad to be able to donate a portion of sales to @pregnancylosssupportcanada to help grieving families get the support they need. After losing our firstborn son Patrick, I stay motivated because life is short, and we're all here to make the world a better place.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I feel honored to have designed and created very special pieces for families with heirloom diamonds. I hope to do a lot more of these special projects this year.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

I would say trying to manage it all - I have personally seen the benefit of outsourcing a few things within your business.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

I would say don't try to rush; you will get there eventually. Self-doubt won't do you any favors and stay true to your visions.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

It may sound simple but do what you love and love what you do! Find that one thing that sets your soul on fire, and there is no stopping you.

Where can people find you and your business?
