Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Astrid J., CEO of Astrid Reiki-Breathwork Practitioner, located in Calgary, AB, Canada.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a female Native American CEO and Entrepreneur offering private sessions, workshops, and training to help heal people at an emotional and/or physical level. From trauma, addiction, or surgery recovery to simply the attainment of a healthier lifestyle, I assist people in therapeutic ways through health coaching, hands-on REIKI energy healing, and BREATHWORK breath therapy. Sessions can be delivered in English, Spanish, or French. I love to help my clients discover their natural healing power! My goal is to show clients their own tools to live in peace with themselves. I have also developed alternative streams of revenue with homemade kombucha, paintings, and lifestyle accessories.
Tell us about yourself
I've been thinking of creating a healing business for a while since I started to learn and practice reiki at a young age. I wanted to help people heal themselves because, personally, it worked a lot for me to always keep up even though life was really hard for me.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I want to teach people reiki, facilitate breathwork workshops, be invited to markets, and be asked to be a speaker for entrepreneurs' webinars about stress management.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
It is the patient who doesn't have enough money because life pricing is becoming way too high. Because this medicine is not covered by most insurance or healthcare plans, they will prefer to go to physiotherapy. Educate people about the necessity to complete alternative practices with traditional medicine and make them understand that it is normal to pay for their well-being and not hope for it for free.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Be focused, persistent, and have a positive mindset.
Where can people find you and your business?
