What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a food and travel blogger, and my customers are people who like to eat and travel. I share my easy-to-make restaurant-style recipes and travel adventures that take me around the world.

Tell us about yourself

I'm a classically trained chef that loves to eat. I was inspired by watching Graham Kerr the Galloping Gourmet and how the audience would react to the food that he made. I love cooking and inspiring others to cook. Being able to help others create delicious dishes in their homes inspires me.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Being ranked in the top 50 food blogs of the World.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Keeping up with all the changes that happen affects my business. Learning a whole new skill set as a food photographer and SEO expert. There is always one more new thing to learn!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Don't be afraid to try and fail. We learn from our mistakes, and the only way to succeed is to keep trying.
  2. Give yourself time to be successful. Set short-term goals and long-term goals, and be realistic. It's not about wishful thinking.
  3. Hire people to do the parts of your job you don't like to do. Keep your focus on what you're good at and what brings you joy.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Being a business owner isn't easy and isn't for everyone. But you never know until you try. Be patient, diligent, and resourceful, and you will succeed.
