What's your business, and who are your customers?

Artisan Soap by Grace is a small home-based business located in Midland, Ontario, Canada. We strive to bring a fun, unique experience. Our customers rave about the beautiful designs and, yes, even how delicious our soaps look (just don’t eat it! lol). Our soaps are not just for decoration; they are packed full of skin-loving goodness. So use the soap and love your skin.

Tell us about yourself

Hello lovelies!.. My name is Grace McNabb. I am the creator/soap artist of Artisan Soap by Grace. I set out on my business journey three years ago; as a single mother, I wanted to bring more natural ingredients into my home. I believe that less is more; it truly does matter what we put in and on our bodies. It seemed only “natural” (excuse the pun, lol) to share that with my community and now the world. The love for my family and the knowing that I am putting forth good quality products keeps me motivated.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest business owner accomplishment is believing in myself and taking the “leap.” When you know you can offer something good to the world, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest aspects or realizations of being a business owner are that not everyone is going to like your products, and you can’t please everyone, and that’s ok. It’s a hard pill to swallow and, in the beginning, would leave me very anxious. However, it is crucial for a business owner to keep a positive mindset.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Believe in yourself.
  2. Join groups with like-minded businesses.
  3. Get your name out there; social media is a great platform.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Whatever your business, remember to have patience with yourself; Rome wasn’t built in a day.
Much love,
Grace
