What's your business, and who are your customers?
I believe art and creativity will unite the world. My Art on Purpose brand features clothing, accessories, books, inspirational cards, and products and workshops for groups to build collaboration and connection. I am the founder of the Global Sisterhood Podcast Network, and my flagship show is Boost Power Podcast.
Tell us about yourself
I believe in BIG IDEAS and that all people deserve an invitation to come and PLAY! Starting with organizing the girl scout troop and the high school yearbook, I have built of life of LOVE as a business tool. Every day I believe in the possible and invent new podcasts, products, and promotions to make the world more fun and better for all. This makes for a fun and exciting life and never a dull moment.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I am the founder of the CampExperience Network, which has been 18 years of over 5000 women Doing Good and Having Fun. Together we have raised over $1 million for 60+ charities in Colorado and around the world. We have stood together as a "Sisterhood by Choice" to make a difference in the lives of other women. And I have interviewed over 250 women for my podcasts and been an inspirational speaker in 20 countries around the world.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
I think it is hard ever to relax. Finally, now in Betsy 6.0 (in my 60s), I am finding the courage to STOP and take good care of myself first. There is always another person to help and an idea to grow. Now I curate the people, places, and things that fit my passions and purpose.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Define your WHY? Get really clear on what gets you up in the morning.
- Find your own "Style Points" Why are you remarkable, and what do you want them to say about YOU behind your back?
- Do Good and Have Fun! Life is rich not from earnings but from the joy of the journey of making a difference for others.
