Digital youth basketball training program for youth basketball players, coaches, and parents.
Tell us about yourself
As a youth, I wasn't very talented but had a love for skill development. Once I started to gain the talent, I overcame many off-the-court obstacles that helped build the right mindset. After going on to play professional basketball, I wanted to package up my career, training techniques, and, most importantly, mindset techniques in a way that upcoming youth anywhere can use them.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Since starting AboveMAX Basketball, we've developed hundreds of players into strong high school athletes and prepared them for college both on and off the court.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Time management and drawing boundaries between work life and personal life.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Act on your ideas ASAP. They are an idea for a reason, and the sooner you execute them, the less likely you will stray from that idea.
- Focus on providing value first, not making money. The more people you can help, the more people you can reach. The more people you can reach, the more money you can make.
- Don't compare yourself to your competition. Compare yourself to the competition you wish you had. Brands that hold themselves to a higher standard always win in the end.
