What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am an artist that creates characters and draws fan art. I run my own sticker/print shop online, as well as do custom commissions of other people's characters. My customers generally tend to be those who are also artists, younger adults, and those that have specific art pieces in mind.
Tell us about yourself
I love to draw. I've been working on my art since I was a young kid. I love creating things for myself as well as for others. It brings me a lot of satisfaction to bring someone's character to life! I improve every day. That's what keeps me going.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Thus far, my biggest accomplishment was getting 10 commissions this year. Also, opening my sticker shop two years ago.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Keeping up with trends, advertising, and making more content all the time. It isn't easy to keep it all up. I have a full-time job besides this art venture so that it can be really challenging sometimes.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- When you feel like giving up, keep going. You're doing an amazing job.
- Sketch everywhere—even a napkin for 10 minutes at a restaurant. No one is judging you. Keep up your skills.
- NEVER undersell yourself. Someone will ALWAYS pay you for your skills.
