Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in photography but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Arielle Levy, Founder of Arielle Levy Photo, located in San Diego, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I help high-performing entrepreneurs, brands, and CEOs capture beautiful images for websites, social media, PR articles, podcast covers, and books that help sell and captivate their audience.

Tell us about yourself

When I was 25, I knew I wanted to do something for work that I truly enjoyed- I knew that had to be photography. I worked on my craft starting from that day, every single day for seven years. Today I'm still just as motivated to be the best because the transformations I see in my clients make me so happy. I've grown with a lot of my clients over the years, and the photos have helped them see themselves in an elevated way.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is shooting for my dream clients. I attract my dream clients every day, and I have never had a case of the Sunday Scaries in the past seven years.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest thing about being a business owner is always wanting to work on something to grow your business. It's hard to shut off when you truly love what you do.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Post, Share, and Learn every day; even if it's hard and it feels like no one is listening, everyone has to start somewhere.
  2. Try to learn something from every single experience in your business, and at the end of each day, ask yourself what you could have done BETTER.
  3. Grow your network and always provide more for your client. Always go above and beyond and impress every person you work with- they will spread the word about you this way!
