Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in food and beverage but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Joshua Corea, Co-Owner of Archive, located in Toronto, ON, CA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are a small wine bar with a lot of wine, well-chosen craft beers & ciders, and some really good food. Our customers are people who like good things like these.

Tell us about yourself

I like wine. A lot. When working for other people, I dreamt about the kind of place I would like to go to after finishing a shift working in a restaurant. I got tired of working for other people, so I decided to make that dream a reality. This allowed me to work with/try more wine than I would ever have been able to work for someone else.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Managing to keep our business open through the COVID times.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Managing to keep our business open through the COVID times. Putting a smile on your face even when there is no smile on the inside. Managing people, both customers, and employees.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Do it now.
  2. Don't give up.
  3. Be prepared for lots of work. Be ready to struggle. It's worth it.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

We are located at 909 Dundas Street West in Toronto; if you like wine, you should come to check us out.
