Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Katie Grimes, CEO of Anything for Love, LLC., located in Portsmouth, NH, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Anything for Love is an international online education company. We provide coaching for female entrepreneurs who'd like to start and grow businesses they're passionate about that makes more money than their full-time jobs.

Tell us about yourself

I grew up near the beach and was always in awe of the success I assumed people who had beach houses had. I always knew I wanted to be my own boss and make my own schedule, but I had a hard time asking for help. I started three companies in my early 20's and 30's, but it wasn't until 2019 that I merged all my experiences and created Anything for Love, LLC. I started by coaching women who were healing addictions to love and relationships and found that nearly 95% of my clients were business owners or wanted to be.

Whether it was in a group or privately, my clients and I started talking about the similarities between love and owning a business-like following your intuition, believing in yourself, trusting, etc. I love what I do-teaching people how to feel their feelings, that their feelings about themselves and others matter, and how to live a life they love despite feeling a little lost at times.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment by far is the confidence my clients have in themselves—it doesn't mean that every day they feel amazing, but they know how to get themselves back on track with tools I have taught that (because of emotional pain I had previously experienced). If I knew I had to go through that sh*t again so I could meet my clients and then teach them these skills, I would do it all over again. Clients still keep in touch and share updates, even years later, and I love that so much!!!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest thing that comes with being a business owner is trusting that the money will come and that you will make more than you spend. Damn, that's been a hard lesson to learn - trusting money as I trust myself like I trust others...trusting that money has my best interest at heart and will always be there for me, even after I spend some.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

The top 3 tips for anyone looking to start, run and grow a business are to:

  1. Get support,
  2. Ask for help.
  3. Hire a coach.

(I think of how much more I could have made and how many more people I could have helped had I only been willing to hire a business coach and mentor) It's literally why I pivoted my business from relationship coaching to business coaching because I saw how much I was impacting my own life by running a business and how quickly my clients were too - at times, faster than I had learned these skills because I was able to teach them shortcuts!! So cool!
