What's your business, and who are your customers?

Eat the Frog Fitness is dedicated to improving the health and wellness of our communities. Eat the Frog combines the best qualities of personal training with the best aspects of group training to provide personalized small group training in a fun and welcoming environment. Our state-of-the-art technology allows us to offer both in-studio and virtual training programs for all fitness levels. Getting fit and having fun doing it is what we are all about!

Our welcoming community for all fitness levels allows our members to feel comfortable with this very personal aspect of their lives. We hold our members accountable and give them the guidance they need to develop healthy and sustainable habits.

Tell us about yourself

After a seventeen-year career as a commercial litigator, I took a life leap to follow my passion for helping people improve their fitness and overall health. I know firsthand the struggles to stay healthy with the busy lives we live and distractions in the world. At Eat the Frog, we create a welcoming environment for all fitness levels with 24/7 access. This allows our members to get trained on their schedules. After losing my parents at a young age due to illness, what motivates me is to help our members to improve their quality of life and have fun doing it!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as an owner is providing an opportunity for thousands of members to feel comfortable with their fitness and improve their health. If the past two years have taught us anything, it is the importance of health and wellness in our lives. At Eat the Frog, we hold our members accountable and give them the guidance they need to develop healthy and sustainable habits. Pivoting from in-studio to at home to now a hybrid during such a unique period of our lives has made us stronger and more versatile.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

I think the hardest part of being a business owner is that you are always on. Especially with our 24/7 access, there is always something to do. I have had to learn to take time to shut it off, at least for short periods, in order to be a better owner and husband/father.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

I would say first is that you have a strong team. Your team is what runs the business and makes you successful. As the owner, it's your job to keep them engaged, motivated, and happy. Second, you have to be flexible. Every day presents a new challenge, and you have to expect and embrace this as part of the journey. The third is to invest in something in which you have passion; if you don't believe in your mission or have a sound "why," then it will be very difficult to be successful.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

If you are interested in opening a business, I encourage you to take the leap! Eat the Frog means don't procrastinate, and for many, fitness is something that many find excuses not to do. Our around-the-clock accessibility, innovative technology, and elite coaches allow our members to train on their schedule with purpose and direction. We meet each member where they are and guide them to where they want to be. There will always be reasons not to open a business, but don't procrastinate and do it!
