What's your business, and who are your customers?

My Founder Circle is a platform that helps female founders scale their businesses to be wildly profitable and in alignment with their values.

Tell us about yourself

I started my career as a fellow at a venture capital firm, then worked for a VC-backed startup before working for a nonprofit. I realized that my entire career I was given the choice of either making money or doing good in the world, and that I wanted to change the status quo—I wanted to be able to help build profitable businesses that were good for the world.

I am now the co-founder of My Founder Circle, where we work with founders in an intimate incubator-style program for 12 weeks. I also consult with founders building B Corp-style businesses.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Seeing the incredible founders I work with hit their stretch goals and live with intentionality and purpose.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The uncertainty - there are a lot of ups and downs as a business owner, and you learn to be resilient.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Do your market research unbiasedly - be truly curious, and go out to solve a problem your customers have.
  2. Cut out the noise - if someone makes you feel less than you, unfollow or unsubscribe. Don't get caught up in the comparison trap. It truly won't help you.
  3. Just start!
