Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in wellness counseling but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Angela Jorden, Business Owner of Angela Jorden Coaching, located in Indianapolis, IN, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is all about helping solopreneurs reset their happiness! I inspire solopreneurs to step into their power, build confidence and eliminate the head trash. It's all about clarity, confidence, and communication. As a solopreneur myself, I recognize the need for coaching for business owners who work on their own and need business community support.

Tell us about yourself

I became interested in being a life coach in 2013 when I had a mental breakdown while working in corporate marketing. I'd worked in marketing, public relations, and communications for much of my adult life, but it stressed me out. I left my corporate job in May of 2013 and soon after started seeing a life coach myself. It became very apparent that it would be a good fit for me too. Giving people a confidence boost, helping them get rid of limiting beliefs, and cheerleading for them as they succeed are what drive me every day. I love coaching!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Coaching a client who was ready to leave his job because he felt that he was worthless, not doing his job well, and not being appreciated. We worked together, and he realized just how important he was to his current employer and that he wanted to stay AND move into management. When he retires in a few years, he plans to start a coffee roasting business, and I'll work with him again on getting customers, time management, and marketing.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Knowing that at the end of the day, you're responsible for your business. It's all on you to make it succeed, especially as a solopreneur who doesn't hire full-time employees. I have to know what I can do, what I don't have time to do, and what needs to be outsourced. I have a robust community of coaches and business owners who give me advice, challenge me in good ways and remind me of my power.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Don’t let the business administration and marketing part scare you. Websites like LegalZoom.com and Canva.com make it so easy to get your business up and go in no time. Just take it step by step, and before you know it, you're off to the races!

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I'm so thrilled to be a solopreneur, and I love helping people succeed!
